Notice from the Ottawa Tribe Election Committee
A Nomination Meeting for a Special Election for the Ottawa Tribe of Oklahoma will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 at noon.
The Nomination Meeting will be held at the Longhouse, 11400 S 613 Rd, Miami, OK 74354.
The sole purpose of this meeting will be to take nominations to fill the vacant position of Second Chief, term ending May 2028.
All nominations are in person only, and subject to background checks prior to appearing on the ballot.
Tribal members must bring their tribal ID’s and photo identification with them to count towards a quorum for the meeting.

There was a nomination meeting held, Saturday, February 21st, 2026 for the purpose of taking nominations for the positions on the Business committee for Chief and Secretary Treasurer and on The Grievance committee for member numbers 1, 4, and 5.

2026 Regular Election Nomination Meeting Results
Chief - Gene Epperson was elected by acclamation.
Secretary/Treasurer - Nominees are Misti Pruitt and Dennis Scott
Grievance Committee Member #1 - Jim Hooter was elected by acclamation.
Grievance Committee Member #4 - Nominees are Logan Britt, Johna Butler and Kalisha Dixon.
Grievance Committee Member #5 - Cassandra Mundy was elected by acclamation.
